Now over 100 years old, Big Basin Redwoods State Park is the oldest unit within the California State Park System.

This book is divided into 6 sections. First, a history of the park’s founding is accompanied by the photographs of A.P. Hill whose work helped convince the state legislature to create the park. Divided into habitat zones of Redwood Forest, Mixed Forest, Chaparral & Knobcone Pine, Riparian and Coastal, the other 5 sections are a showcase of photographs from 28 contemporary photographers. These images display the beauty and diversity of Big Basin Redwoods State Park which stretches from the crest of the Santa Cruz Mountains to the Pacific Ocean.

Purchase of this book helps support Mountain Parks Foundation’s continuing mission to provide environmental and cultural education to park visitors.
